Description

The Guild of Motoring Artists (GMA) was established in 1986 as a group of professional and semi-professional artists, who shared a common interest in automotive art. Over the years it has attracted some of the best and diverse worldwide automotive artists through its selective membership, exhibiting around the UK with invitational exhibitions in the USA.

Our second exhibition at the Club features works from thirteen of our members in a variety of media and styles. You will find work from Bill Pack, Steve Goodwin, Ella Freire,  Anna-Louise Felstead, Jonny Ambrose, Jon Stevenson, Dave O’Brien, Richard Neergaard, Sean Wales, David Ginn, David Purvis, Brian Casey and Barry Hunter on display.

Dave O’Brien’s passion for mosaic art was first founded during a holiday to Barcelona and seeing Antoni Gaudi’s Park Guell. Dave makes mosaics that are influenced by his own passions such as iconic music album covers, fine works of art, rare racing cars, vintage posters and iconic buildings.  His attention to detail, discipline and patience are paramount in producing each artwork. Every mosaic work is totally unique and made with great attention to detail. Working mainly under the name of ‘Big & Small Mosaics’, O’Brien has made some recent BBC television appearances on shows including ‘Home Is Where The Art Is’ and DIY SOS, both hosted by Nick Knowle.
