The Club is thrilled to announce that it has partnered with Glenfarclas to produce a single malt 15-year aged whisky, exclusively bottled for the Royal Automobile Club as a limited edition.

Founded in 1836, Glenfarclas has long been recognised as one of the most prestigious distilleries in Scotland, a remarkable achievement given they have remained a family-owned company over the course of six generations, nestled amongst the many distilleries in the Speyside region.

They are world renowned for their mastery of the Oloroso sherry cask, which they exclusively source from a single Spanish Bodega in a partnership going back decades. They have an unparalleled reputation for the quality of their whisky, which is due in no small part to their focus on the limited range they produce, making this exclusive bottle all the more special.

This unique bottle for the Club is a small batch of their award winning 15-year-old whisky, bottled at a higher ABV and chosen from a selection of casks they have handpicked for this expression.

With a rich golden amber colour, the nose carries light butterscotch aromas with a hint of dried fruit. The flavour is full bodied with a superb balance of sherried sweetness with malty tones, followed by a long-lasting finish that is both gloriously sherried and sweet. Best served with good company and over ice.

Tasting Notes – Sultana-and-raisin-studded spiced sponge cake, dusted with brown sugar and a touch of nutmeg. Danish pastries and tarte Tatin follow, along with freshly sliced green apples and custard.
Palate – Apple jam and Eccles cakes – sticky raisins, brown sugar and sweet pastry. Brighter sultana fruitiness develops, contrasting against rich dates and baking spices.
Finish – Dark brown sugar and raisins linger. Old polished oak and soft spice builds.
