Description

The Veteran Car Run postcards are a reproduction of the artwork commissioned by the Royal Automobile Club for the power behind the annual RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (3 November), to commemorate the 120th birthday of the Ladies’ Automobile Club, which will be the key theme of the Run this year. The Club has commissioned renowned motoring artist Anna-Louise Felstead to produce a unique celebratory painting that will form an emblem for our event. The painting, which depicts two Edwardian ladies of the era, will celebrate women’s contributions to all things motoring! The souvenir postcards are a wonderful memento of this very special event, the commemorative painting and limited edition prints also on sale.

Please note the postcard packs contain 5 individual postcards.

The Artist

Anna-Louise graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2003 having received first class honours from Central Saint Martins. Regarded as a reportage artist, her work is generally painted on location in ink on paper. These studies are then used as reference material for larger oil paintings.

Her latest acclaimed work was a commission from Saudi Motorsport to design their poster for the recent Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2024 in Jeddah, capturing the speed and spirit of modern racing.

The organisers of The Automobilia Collectors Expo in Monterey, California have since announced Anna-Louise Felstead as their Artist in Residence and official poster designer for their new event in 2024 where she’ll be exhibiting her work for the first time

Felstead’s artistic journey has taken her from the charming streets of Port Isaac, through the bustling avenues of New York City, and into the hearts of automotive enthusiasts around the globe. Her commissions include projects for the Ministry of Defence and captivating scenes from the world’s most prestigious events, like Pebble Beach, Monaco Grand Prix Historique and Le Mans.

Her work has been featured all over the world and she is a regular exhibitor at Salon Privé, showcasing her pieces at Chelsea & Blenheim Palace.
