Description

Winery – Bodega Garzon

The Garzón area is characterized by crystalline basement, which gave origin to the oldest soils in the planet over 2500 million years ago. When these rocks are altered and broken down over millions of years, the weathered rock creates a soil called ballast.

Its vineyard is divided over 1000 plots based on microclimates, different orientations, varied levels of humidity, sun exposure, and soil characteristics, producing small vineyards with incredible biodiversity, including indigenous forests and natural palm trees.

Garzón prioritizes the sustainable management of its vineyards by eliminating the use of herbicides and synthetic products to obtain high-quality, juicy grapes with a greater typicity and by re-implementing traditional cultural practices.

Grapes are hand-picked at optimum ripeness. Hand selecting bunches guarantees the grapes are of the highest quality. The vinification process minimizes any possible intervention for maximum conservation of the typical characteristics of Garzón’s native land.

Built in the terraced hills, the winery’s staggered design uses a gravity system to produce fine wines of the highest quality. The efficient facilities maximize the use of energy resources while generating wind and photovoltaic energy.
